We are talking about the Diatomaceous earth, inert of fossil origin obtained from sedimentary siliceous rocks and a substance composed mainly of calcium carbonate and silicon dioxide. It is therefore a natural pesticide that helps to ward off crawling insects, mites and other parasites, causing dehydration of the weeds that come into contact with the treated surfaces.

Diatom dust allows the creation of physical barriers along the path of the arthropods or near their nesting sites. The antiparasitic efficacy of this particular flour is maximum in low humidity environments.

La polvere di diatomea viene impiegata nella lotta, soprattutto domestica, contro l’acaro pollino, blatte, cimici del letto, formiche, pulci e zecche.
